Atlanta United goalkeeper Brad Guzan and Lawrenceville’s Walker Zimmerman were called up to the U.S. men’s national soccer team Wednesday for coming World Cup qualifiers.

Guzan is playing with Middlesbrough in the English Premier League. He will join Atlanta United this summer. Zimmerman, a centerhalf, plays for FC Dallas. He also was called up by manager in Bruce Arena in January for two friendly matches. Zimmerman didn’t play in the tie with Serbia, but had a man-of-the-match type performance against Jamaica in Chattanooga, Tenn.

The players will report to training camp in San Jose on March 19 for the game against Honduras on March 24 and at Panama on March 28.

The U.S. lost its first two games in the qualifying cycle for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Atlanta United had three more players called up by their national teams: Miguel Almiron (Paraguay), Carlos Carmona (Chile) and Josef Martinez (Venezuela).

Left fullback Greg Garza, who was called up by Arena for the January camp, wasn’t called up Wednesday.
