After winning the World Series on Wednesday night, Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa proposed to girlfriend Daniella Rodriguez on the field of Dodger Stadium.

In the postgame interview, Correa turned from the camera to Rodriguez and asked her to marry him.

She said yes.

"He had been so focused on the game," Rodriguez said, according to the Houston Chronicle. "All he ever talked about was winning the World Series, so I never really thought something like this would be on his mind, so when it all went down, I was just shocked."

In the World Series, Correa averaged .276 with two home runs, five RBI, one walk and four strikeouts.

Correa told KPRC 2 in Houston he knew he wanted to ask Rodriguez to marry him toward the end of the regular season, but decided to wait it out.

"I knew (the Astros) had championship potential and I just waited it out and it took seven games but it worked out pretty well for us," Correa said.
