VIDEO: Braves’ Freddie Freeman talks third All-Star nomination

Freddie Freeman's two-run homer boosted the Braves to a series sweep at St. Louis.

Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman will be the starting first baseman for the National League at the 2018 All-Star Game, it was announced Sunday night.

Freeman, who led the National League in voting, earned his third All-Star nomination in his nine-year career.

“It’s still kinda hard to put into words,” Freeman said. “The love and support that we got from Braves country and from fans all around baseball, it’s really pretty special and it’s obviously the way the team’s been playing that we’re in this (position).”
