In response to a report Wednesday that former Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze had been hired as a consultant for Georgia football this season, the University of Georgia released a statement Thursday denying the claim.

"Hugh Freeze has not been working with the Georgia football team this fall nor has he been compensated for any assistance,” the statement read according to the Telegraph’s Jason Butt.

Freeze was relieved of his duties as head coach at Ole Miss in July after reports of misconduct.

Freeze has not been hired by any team in a coaching capacity since his firing.
