Week 2 of the 2017 college football season provided some great moments.

While we can’t list every amazing play that happened this weekend, here are 10 of the best moments college football had to offer.

10. Oregon wide receiver lays out for 51-yard catch

Oregon wide receiver Johnny Johnson III laid out for a 51-yard catch from quarterback Justin Herbert during Saturday’s game against Nebraska.

The Ducks went on to score a touchdown on the drive and win the game, 42-35.

9. Colorado won’t give up and returns punt for touchdown

After Texas State went three-and-out in the first quarter, Colorado refused to go down during the punt return.

Colorado's Isaiah Oliver was back to receive the punt and shook off several tackles before being taken down by Texas State.

Oliver fumbled the ball before he hit the ground, but Colorado’s Laviska Shenault Jr. picked it up and returned the ball 55 yards for the first touchdown of the game.

Colorado went on to win 37-3.

8. Washington’s Dante Pettis returns punt for touchdown, breaks DeSean Jackson’s Pac-12 record

To end the first quarter, Washington’s Dante Pettis recorded his seventh punt return touchdown on Saturday against Montana.

Pettis, the son of  former MLB center fielder and current Houston Astros assistant coach Gary Pettis, broke DeSean Jackson's Pac-12 punt return touchdown record with the return.

The Huskies wide receiver also recorded four receptions for 32 yards on Saturday.

Washington went on to defeat the Montana, 63-7.

7. Lamar Jackson runs in third rushing, sixth total touchdown against UNC

Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson busted out a spin move to score his third rushing touchdown and sixth total touchdown of the game on Saturday against North Carolina.

On an 11-yard run in the fourth quarter, Jackson found a hole in the offensive line and made his way toward the goal line, busting out a spin move in the secondary before extending the ball over the goal line for the Cardinals' final score of the game.

Louisville defeated UNC, 47-35.

6. Iowa wins in overtime at Iowa State

Iowa trailed Iowa State 41-38 in overtime on Saturday, but a five-yard pass from Iowa quarterback Nathan Stanley to Ihmir Smith-Marsette sealed the win for the Hawkeyes.

Iowa won the game 44-41, winning the Cy-Hawk Trophy for the third-straight year.

5. USC’s Deontay Burnett’s diving catch in the end zone

Near the end of the first half against Stanford, USC quarterback Sam Darnold threw a 25-yard pass to wide receiver Deontay Burnett in the end zone, extending the Trojans' lead 28-17.

Burnett laid out just before the end zone and caught the ball for one of Darnold's four touchdown passes against No. 15 Stanford.

No. 6 USC went on to win the game, 42-24.

4. Iowa’s Akrum Wadley sends the game into overtime

Yes, here’s another Iowa play Saturday’s matchup against Iowa State because this reception sent the Hawkeyes to overtime.

With 1:25 left in regulation, Iowa quarterback Nathan Stanley threw a 46-yard pass to wide receiver Akrum Wadley who scrambled his way to the end zone and sent the game into overtime.

The touchdown and extra point by Iowa kicker Miguel Recinos tied the game, 38-38.

3. Georgia’s Davin Bellamy, Lorenzo Carter secure a win in South Bend

In a close game between No. 15 Georgia and No. 24 Notre Dame, Georgia linebacker Davin Bellamy sealed the win for the Bulldogs in South Bend, Ind.

With less than two minutes remaining in the game, Bellamy forced a fumble when he sacked quarterback Brandon Wimbush for a 11-yard loss before Bulldogs linebacker Lorenzo Carter fell on the loose ball.

The play sealed the game 20-19 for the Bulldogs.

2. Georgia’s Terry Godwin’s one-handed catch against Notre Dame

You guessed it. Another Georgia play because each score was essential in this tight game between two top-25 teams.

Georgia wide receiver Terry Godwin’s one-handed catch in the end zone can easily be named the best offensive play of the game and maybe the best catch of the entire weekend.

On a five-yard pass from quarterback Jake Fromm, Godwin jumped and caught the ball on his shoulder pad while getting one foot down in the end zone.

The score tied the game 10-10, but Georgia went on to win 20-19 in South Bend due to defensive excellence.

1. Baker Mayfield plants OU flag in the middle of Ohio State’s “O”

Okay, this one isn’t technically an offenisve or defensive play, but it was mind-blowing and it did happen in “the Shoe” on Saturday night.

After No. 5 Oklahoma demolished No. 2 Ohio State 31-16, Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield ran around the field with the OU flag and then planted it in the middle of the Buckeye’s “O” on the 50-yard line.

Mayfield threw 386 yards and three touchdowns in the Sooners’ win.

On Monday afternoon, Mayfield apologized to he offended with the flag plant, saying he got caught up in an emotional win.
