Without a doubt, the most embarrassing play of Week 3 of the NFL regular season goes to the Chicago Bears for botching a blocked field goal return which should have been a touchdown.

In the final seconds of the first half, Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell attempted a 35-yard field goal that was blocked by Bears cornerback Sherrick McManis. Bears’ Marcus Cooper recovered the ball and returned it 70 yards for what looked like a clean touchdown run.

Cooper showboated and slowed down around the 10-yard line before fumbling the ball on the one-yard line.

The touchdown would have given the Bears a 21-7 lead with the extra point.

Instead, the Bears were given the ball and kicked a field goal for 24 yards to end the first half.

The Bears won their first game of the season 23-17 over the Steelers.
