Marist 33, Mercer 7: Marist's Chuckie Looney accounted for three touchdowns, and visiting Mercer committed six turnovers.

Marist scored the final 26 points, holding the Bears (9-2, 5-2) to 227 yards of offense.

“We just didn’t play as well as I would have liked to give us a shot,” Mercer coach Bobby Lamb said in a release. “We forced four fumbles and couldn’t recover one, so it was just one of those days where everything bounced their way.”

Mercer entered averaging 290 yards rushing — No. 2 in the FCS — but was held to 119.

JeTarii Donald led the Bears with 91 yards rushing.

John Russ (Mill Creek), who had thrown three interceptions entering the game, was picked off four times and sacked four times. He finished 11-of-22 for 108 yards and an 18-yard touchdown pass to Robert Brown.

Looney ran for 65 yards and two touchdowns and threw for 146 and another score.
