Former Georgia running back Sony Michel signed his rookie contract with the New England Patriots, according to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport.

Michel’s contract comes just in time as the Patriots’ rookies report for training camp Sunday, July 22.

The former Bulldog finished last season with 1,227 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns, averaging 7.9 yards a carry.

Michel was the 31st overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. The Patriots also drafted former Georgia offensive tackle Isaiah Wynn at No. 23 overall.
