1. Cubs beat Braves

The Chicago Cubs lead the Atlanta Braves 2-0 in the three-game series after the reigning World Champions won Tuesday's rain delayed game 5-1. Braves pitcher Sean Newcomb pitched 5 1/3 innings and allowed four runs. The Braves and Cubs play the final game of the SunTrust Park series on Wednesday at 12:10 p.m.

2. The battle for Falcons' right guard

D. Orlando Ledbetter reports what Atlanta Falcons coach Dan Quinn sees in the battle at right guard between Wes Schweitzer and Ben Garland as the Falcons head into training camp in just over a week.

3. Braves Vizcaino cleared for return from DL

Atlanta Braves relieving pitcher Arodys Vizcaino was cleared to return from the disabled list on Wednesday. Vizcaino was placed on the 10-day disabled list on July 5 due to a strained right index finger.

4. Falcons' McKinley among rookie leaders in jersey sales

Atlanta Falcons rookie Takkarist McKinley ranked No. 8 in jersey sales among rookies, according to Dick Sports Goods Jersey Report. McKinley, drafted No. 26 overall in April's NFL Draft, will wear No. 98 for the Falcons.

5. Atlanta United's Parkhurst named to 2017 MLS All-Star roster

Atlanta United defender Michael Parkhurst was selected to join the 2017 MLS All-Star Game roster on Tuesday afternoon. Parkhurst will join Atlanta teammates midfielder Miguel Almirón and defender Greg Garza for August's All-Star Game in Chicago.
