1. Braves lose to Cubs

The Atlanta Braves lost the Wrigley Field series opener to the Chicago Cubs 6-2 on Thursday night. The Braves and Cubs play game two of the series on Friday at 2:20 p.m.

2. Falcons beat Jaguars

The Atlanta Falcons lost their final exhibition game 13-7 on Thursday night to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Falcons next game is the first regular season game of the season against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field on Sept. 10.

3. Brandon Phillips traded to AngelsAtlanta Braves second baseman Brandon

Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United owner Arthur Blank announced on Thursday The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation will match each fan donation to the American Red Cross' Hurricane Relief Fund up to $1 million.
