1. Braves lose series finale at Washington
The Atlanta Braves lost the Nationals Park series finale against the Washington Nationals on Thursday, 5-2. Mike Foltynewicz lost his seventh-striaght game after he left Thursday's game with a cut on his right middle finger. The Braves return to SunTrust Park for a three-game series against the New York Mets over the weekend. Friday's game begins at 7:35 p.m.
2. Atlanta United to host Orlando City, break attendance record
When Atlanta United host Orlando City on Saturday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the team is expected to break the MLS attendance record. The game kicks off at 4 p.m. and can be watched on Univision.
3. Falcons hold regular season home opener against Packers
Mercedes-Benz Stadium will get a workout this weekend. After hosting Atlanta United on Saturday, the Atlanta Falcons will host the Green Bay Packers in their first regular season home game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Jeff Schultz writes the Falcons will make it feel like January against the Packers on Sunday. The Falcons and the Packers kick off on Sunday at 8:30 p.m. and can be watched on NBC.
4. Georgia hosts Samford
In its last non-conference game before an eight-game SEC run, Georgia will host Samford on Saturday night at Sanford Stadium. Gabe Burns writes freshman running back D'Andre Swift should get increased snaps during the game.
