1. Hawks to play Hornets

The Atlanta Hawks (1-0) tip off against the Charlotte Hornets at 7 p.m. at Charlotte's Spectrum Stadium. The game can be watched on Fox Sports South East.

2. Georgia Tech, Georgia State basketball game set

Georgia Tech and Georgia State will face off on Oct. 28 in the "A-Town Showdown for Hurricane Relief" at McCamish Pavilion. Information about general admission tickets can be found on the AJC.com.

3. Road closing set for Georgia Dome implosion

Tim Tucker writes beginning Friday, traffic message signs will alert drivers of the road closures for the Georgia Dome's implosion on Nov. 20.

4. Atlanta United players call reports they intentionally kicked Red Bulls "silly"

After New York Red Bulls manager Jesse Marsch said Atlanta United players were told to intentionally kick the Red Bulls during Sunday's 0-0 draw, Atlanta United's Anton Walkes called the accusation "silly" and discredited it. More on the AJC.com.

5. Falcons injury report lists Tripp

Atlanta Falcons linebacker Jordan Tripp (concussion), wide receiver Mohamed Sanu (hamstring) and defensive lineman Courtney Upshaw (ankle/knee) were listed on the team's injury report on Thursday.
