1. Braves pummeled by Mets
The Braves lost 16-5 to the New York Mets on Wednesday night at SunTrust Park. In four innings, Braves' pitcher Bartolo Colon gave up seven hits, five runs and two walks to his former team. Chris Vivlamore writes about Colon's recent performances.
2. Mercedes-Benz Stadium’s structural steel roof completed
The final piece of Mercedes-Benz Stadium's structural steel roof was put into place on Wednesday. Although considerable work remains, Bill Darden, president of project manager Darden & Company, tells the AJC's Tim Tucker it's the last piece of structural steel on the entire building which is cause to celebrate.
3. What’s going on in the Hawks’ front office?
There are murmuring surrounding the Hawks' front office and if any personnel changes might be announced later this week. On Wednesday, the Hawks' held a meeting with principal owner Tony Ressler to discuss what is reported to be front office restructuring options. Chris Vivlamore has more.
4. Tim Tebow was injured during MLB showcase
Remember when former Heisman-winning quarterback Tim Tebow put on an MLB showcase in August in front of 28 MLB teams including the Braves? Turns out he had an oblique tear. More on the AJC.com.
5. Bruce Jordan-Swilling struggled to turn down Nick Saban during recruiting
Future Georgia Tech linebacker Bruce Jordan-Swilling told the AJC he was the target of a PG-rated Nick Saban one-liner during the recruiting process. Jordan-Swilling, a 4-star recruit, was recruited by the Alabama coach before deciding on Georgia Tech.
