Here’s a few things to know on Friday:

1. Warriors take Game 1

The Golden State Warriors won the first game of the 2017 NBA Finals on Thursday night 113-91 over the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Warriors and Cavs battled through the first quarter, but 20 turnovers by Cleveland compared to four by Golden State helped the Warriors take the game away. Kevin Durant led the Warriors with 38 points while LeBron James led the Cavaliers with 28 points and 15 rebounds. James had a double-double at halftime. Game 2 of the series will be played on Sunday at 8 p.m. in Oakland, Calif.

2. Braves to start series with Reds

The Atlanta Braves will begin a three-game series with the Cincinnati Reds on Friday night. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:10 a.m. from the Cincinnati's Great American Ball Park.

3. Freeney in touch with Falcons

D. Orlando Ledbetter reports former Atlanta Falcons defensive end Dwight Freeney is in touch with the Falcons and is hopeful he will re-sign with the team before the season begins.

4. Atlanta United to play Vancouver

Atlanta United will play the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday at Vancouver's BC Place. The match is expected to begin at 5:30 p.m. Ahead of Saturday's match, Doug Roberson reports on Atlanta United midfielder Miguel Almiron and his love for music.

5. 2018 College Football Hall of Fame ballots released 

The National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame announced the names on the 2018 ballot for induction on Thursday. Among the names are former Falcons Morten Andersen and Tony Gonzalez and former Georgia Tech wide receiver Calvin Johnson.
