After dropping the first set of Tuesday’s quarterfinal match against Italy’s Camila Giorgi, Serena Williams rallied for the win and a spot in her 11th Wimbledon semifinal.

Williams, ranked 25th, went from dropping the first set against Giorgi 6-3 — her first dropped set of the tournament — to winning the final two sets 6-3 and 6-4 and advancing to the semifinals to face Julia Goerges. The 13th-ranked Goerges will be Williams’ first top 40 opponent of the tournament.

Latvia’s Jeļena Ostapenko and Germany’s Angelique Kerber also advanced to the semifinals after winning their Tuesday matches.
