LSU 21, Tennessee 14

Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007

How LSU won: The Tigers intercepted Erik Ainge twice in the fourth quarter, returning one for a touchdown, to seal the victory.

Quotable: "We're the champions of the finest conference in America. I challenge any team in America to go through this conference and come out unscathed." — LSU coach Les Miles, whose team was 11-2

Tweetable fact: LSU won the game despite using backup Ryan Perrilloux at quarterback in place of the injured Matt Flynn. Perrilloux passed for 243 yards and one touchdown.

In the BCS: Playing in its backyard in the Superdome in New Orleans, LSU, with Flynn back at quarterback, scored 21 points in the second quarter to pull away from Ohio State, 38-24, for the national title.

Where is he now: Perrilloux works for Sarrell Dental in Anniston, Ala. He's helping with community outreach programs, though he hopes to get another shot to play in the NFL.
