Former Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett is signing with the New Orleans Saints, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported Tuesday.
“(Barrett) had an invite to try out for the Colts and had interest from other teams,” Garafolo wrote on Twitter in part. “Heads to New Orleans where it’s Tom Savage and Taysom Hill behind Drew Brees.”
After going undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft, the dual threat quarterback agreed to a tryout at the Indianapolis Colts' rookie minicamp, on May 11-13, according to Colts general manager Chris Ballard and a report by CBS Sports.
In four seasons at Ohio State— over three as starter— Barrett totaled a 38-6 record throwing for 9,434 yards and 104 touchdowns and rushing for 3,263 and 43 touchdowns.
