Staring at a 100 percent rain forecast Sunday, the Mitsubishi Electric Classic has opted for a Saturday finish at TPC Sugarloaf.
Looking to avoid a replay of 2015 when the tournament’s last round was washed out on Sunday, they’ll try to squeeze in 36 holes of the 54-hole event on the over-50 PGA Tour Champions in a single day.
The second round is scheduled to begin Saturday morning at 7:15. The course will open to fans at 7 a.m., with parking shuttles from Duluth’s Infinite Energy Center beginning their runs at 6:30 a.m.
The field will then turn it around and play the final round, beginning at 12:45 p.m.
In order to speed play, all players will be using carts Saturday.
Sunday tickets for the event will be honored all day Saturday. The telecast of the final round on the Golf Channel is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Saturday.
