Atlanta United and Club America will play in the quarterfinals of the Champions League on March 11 and March 18.

The first leg will be at 10:30 p.m. at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. The second leg will be at 8:15 p.m. at Kennesaw State.

Atlanta United advanced by defeating Motagua 4-1 on aggregate.

Club America advanced by defeating Comunicaciones 5-3 in penalty kicks after the teams tied 2-2 on aggregate.

This is Atlanta United’s second appearance in the Champions League. It was eliminated by Monterrey in the quarterfinals of last year’s tournament.

Club America has won the Champions League seven times, most recently in 2015-16.

A club from Mexico has won the tournament 14 consecutive times. Just three MLS clubs have advanced to the championship game during that span: Toronto, Montreal and Real Salt Lake.

Atlanta United and Club America have played each other once before in the Campeones Cup, won 3-2 by the Five Stripes last year at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The quarterfinal game will be another in a glut of games for both squads.

Club America is scheduled to play at Pumas on March 8. It will host Cruz Azul on March 15 and Leon on March 21.

Atlanta United is scheduled to host Cincinnati in its MLS home opener March 7. It will host Sporting KC on March 14 and play at Chicago on March 21.
