The Gwinnett Invitational, a Professional Bull Riders event at Infinite Energy Center, will go on as scheduled this weekend. However, the event will take place without fans allowed.
The competition is set to span over two days Saturday and Sunday and will feature two rounds of bull riding.
CEO Sean Gleason released the following statement on the PBR website explaining the decision:
“As a result of decisions made by local authorities, the Infinite Energy Center in Duluth, Georgia set to host the PBR Unleash the Beast event is not open to public gatherings. The PBR will be proceeding with this weekend’s event in a closed environment with no fans in attendance.”
Gleason continued, reassuring fans that refunds will be provided. The event’s championship round will stream on CBS Sports Network at 5 p.m. Sunday.
“The PBR is providing refunds to fans at the point of purchase. Fans should contact the Infinite Energy Center Box Office or AXS starting on March 16, 2020. Fans that purchased via PBR Direct will receive an email with refund instructions.”
“Round 1 will air on RidePass Saturday night at 6:45 p.m. ET. Championship Sunday will stream on RidePass Sunday at 1:45 p.m. ET and air on CBS Sports Network Sunday at 5 p.m. ET.”
“We appreciate everyone’s support and understanding.”
