The Silverbacks learned on Thursday that aren’t able to appeal the red cards given to three players and two coaches during Tuesday’s 2-1 win over Colorado in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

As a result, players Jaime Chavez, who scored both goals to defeat the Rapids, Kwadwo Poku and Borfor Carr, along with coach Eric Wynalda and assistant Ricardo Montoya, won’t be able to participate in the next game against Chicago on July 8 at Silverbacks Park.

The red cards were the result of a skirmish in the second half that started when Chavez pulled down Colorado defender Drew Moor. The coaches were ejected because they left the technical area.

The Fire features metro Atlanta natives Sean Johnson, Alec Kann and Steven Kinney. One of the team’s assistant coaches is Clint Mathis.
