Marcos Baghdatis made short work of American qualifier Austin Krajicek in the first round of the BB&T Atlanta Open on Tuesday at Atlantic Station.

Baghdatis, the fifth seed, used five aces and a strong second serve to knock out Krajicek 6-4, 6-0. It was the first meeting between the two players. Baghdatis will face on Wednesday Australia’s Sam Groth, who defeated 17-year-old American Frances Tiafoe 7-6 (3), 6-4 on Tuesday.

United States’ Jared Donaldson def. India’s Somdev Devverman 6-1, 3-6, 6-4;

Israel’s Dudi Sela vs. United States’ Mardy Fish.
