The Pro Football Hall of Fame will not individually honor absent inductee Terrell Owens at the Hall’s induction ceremony in August.

According to USA Today, Owens will not be introduced at the Gold Jacket Dinner or the induction ceremony.

"There's no reason to bring him up as an individual," executive director Joe Horrigan told the Talk of Fame Network. "He's not here."

Horrigan added that the Hall of Fame will mail Owens his gold jacket on Saturday.

Owens announced in June that he will not be in attendance at the ceremony in Canton, Ohio. Instead, the former NFL wide receiver will be at his alma mater, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, celebrating his induction.

Horrigan did tell the Talk of Fame Network that when the induction class is referred to as a unit, Owens will be included.

Along with Owens, Bobby Beathard, Robert Brazile, Brian Dawkins, Jerry Kramer, Ray Lewis, Randy Moss, and Brian Urlacher are a part of the Hall of Fame class of 2018.
