I think there will be a big change in Atlanta United’s starting 11 when it plays at Chicago on Saturday.
With Miguel Almiron playing almost 80 minutes for Paraguay on Thursday in a friendly against Peru, I think he may come off the bench on Saturday. That would mean Julian Gressel may move inside from the right into the center, and Kevin Kratz getting his first start as the midfielder on the right.
With the possibility of facing Bastian Schweinsteiger, talk about a big day for the two Germans if that were Gerardo Martino’s decision.
Gressel has played high up the field before with mixed results. Kratz has played on the right. With no Jacob Peterson and no Andrew Carleton or Chris Goslin, Kratz is the only option on the right unless Hector Villalba moes back to the right and Brandon Vazquez gets his first start.
Hector Villalba will lead the attack with Yamil Asad on the left.
The defense will stay the same with Carlos Carmona and Jeff Larentowicz as the holding midfielders, Ty Mears and Greg Garza as the fullbacks, Michael Parkhurst and Leandro Gonzalez Pirez as the centerhalves, and Alec Kann as the goalie.
