PETA scraps spay and neuter ad featuring Tiger Woods
This is one ad featuring Tiger Woods that the pro-golfer is probably glad has gone away.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals have scrapped plans for a large billboard ad for its animal birth control campaign -- with Woods as the focus, according to pop-culture Website PopCrunch.
The ad is for PETA's latest animal birth control campaign. Unveiled Wednesday, the animal-rights group's billboard features Woods alongside the following tagline:
"Too much sex can be a bad thing ... for little tigers too. Help keep cats (and dogs) out of trouble. Always spay and neuter!"
Woods last week spoke publicly for the first time since Thanksgiving, apologizing to his family, friends and fans for a series of extra-marital affairs.
PETA said it hoped to post the billboard near Woods' Isleworth home in Windermere, Fla., but the golfer's attorneys stepped in with a cease-and-desist order, PopCrunch said.
"In light of conversations we have had with Mr. Woods' attorneys, plans to run our billboard are on hold at this time," a PETA rep told PopCrunch on Thursday.
