Peachtree City advanced in the Little League World Series Wednesday in South Williamsport, Pa.

Peachtree City, the Southeast champion, beat Michigan 4-3. Michigan is the Great Lakes champ.

Peachtree City started fast with two runs in the first on a Jack Ryan hit. Michigan tied the game in the second but the Georgians added two runs in the bottom of the inning too to take a 4-2 lead.

Michigan closed within a run by scoring once in the third.

But Peachtree City starter Jansen Kenty kept the Great Lakes squad scoreless the rest of the way. Kenty pitched a complete game, striking out nine in six innings.

Wills Maginnis had two hits for the winners

Peachtree City advances to Thursday’s 7 p.m. game against the Mid-Atlantic champs from Staten Island, N.Y. The game will be televised on ESPN.

The winner advances to the U.S. championship game Saturday (3:30 p.m., WSB-TV Channel 2 Action News) against the West Region’s team from Hawaii.
