Alabama coach Nick Saban will be presented with the MacArthur Bowl Wednesday, July 18, on behalf of Alabama’s 2018 National Championship team at the College Football Hall of Fame during SEC Media Days in Atlanta.
Alabama defeated Georgia in the College Football Playoff championship game in January.
The Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame and the National Football Foundation will hold a ceremony to present the annual award that has been presented to every national champion since 1959.
The MacArthur Bowl trophy is a Tiffany & Co. designed silver replica of a football stadium engraved with the names of the winning national championship teams. It features MacArthur’s famous quote: “There is no substitute for victory.”
After 32 years in Birmingham, Ala., the SEC Media Days moves to Atlanta. The 14 SEC coaches and 52 players are expected to attend the annual gathering, starting July 16.
Saban is scheduled to address the media throng at the downtown Omni Hotel at 12:30 p.m. July 18.
The trophy presentation will be take place at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, at the downtown College Football Hall of Fame.
