In all, 29 players with Georgia connections are on the official invite list to the NFL scouting combine which starts Wednesday at Lucas Oil Stadium with the arrival of special teams players and offensive linemen.
Last year there were 26 players with Georgia Connections and 31 in 2011.
Six of the 29 players with Georgia connections invited to the NFL scouting combine are projected to be selected in the first round by ESPN draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. (I will be speaking to Kiper tomorrow about the "Peach-6 Pack" and about tight ends available to the Falcons. According to Kiper's board, the Falcons will have to trade up to get in front of Green Bay 26 to select Alabama running back Eddie Lacy.)
University of Georgia defensive end Jarvis Jones figures to be the first player with Peach State connections to be selected in the draft.
Kiper has Jones going to the Detroit Lions with the 5th overall pick in his latest mock draft.
He has Georgia linebacker Alec Olgetree going 8th to Buffalo.
Chance Warmack, a tackle from Alabama and Fulton County's Westlake High School, is projected to go to Dallas at 18.
Georgia defensive tackle John Jenkins is projected to go 31st to the San Francisco 49ers.
LSU linebacker Kevin Minter of Peachtree Ridge High in Suwanee is projected to land with the Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens, who hold the 32nd pick.
