The top four seeds in the NCAA South Regional lost before the tournament reached the Sweet 16.  And the highest seed to make it to Atlanta, No. 5 Kentucky, is gone now, too.

The Wildcats were eliminated by Kansas State 61-58 Thursday night at Philips Arena.

That sets up an Elite Eight game Saturday between a No. 9 seed, Kansas State, and a No. 11 seed, Loyola Chicago.

The Kansas State-Kentucky game was tied 58-58 in the final minute. A layup by Barry Brown gave K-State a 60-58 lead with 19 seconds to play, and a free throw by Amaad Wainright made it 61-58 with seven seconds to play. A 3-point attempt by Kentucky’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander missed at the buzzer.
