The MLS SuperDraft is scheduled to be held at noon on Jan. 9.

The draft will consist of four rounds. There are 26 slots in each round.

Atlanta United is scheduled to select 23rd in the first round and 75th overall in the third round. Atlanta United traded its second round pick to Columbus in exchange for Justin Meram. It traded its fourth round pick to Philadelphia in exchange for Kevin Kratz.

Atlanta United had the most success in its first draft in 2017 when it selected centerback Miles Robinson with its second selection and Julian Gressel with its eighth selection. Gressel was named rookie of the year and had totaled 15 goals and 35 assists the past three seasons. Robinson became a full-time starter in 2019 and finished third in MLS Defender of the Year voting.

Of the picks the next two years, only Jon Gallagher and Amir Bashti remain with the organization. Gallagher is on loan with Aberdeen in Scotland. Bashti didn’t sign a contract, left, and returned to join Atlanta United 2.
