My weekly MLS Power Poll is out. As with player ratings, this is just meant to start conversation and not to be taken too seriously.

It’s a slightly top-heavy with Eastern Conference teams.

Here we go:

1. Toronto (9-2-5).

Last week: 1.

Result: 2-0 win over D.C. United.

The Reds keep on rolling.

-

2. Chicago (9-3-4).

Last week: 2.

Result: 2-1 win over New England.

This team is playing with confidence, which makes them fun to watch.

-

3. NYCFC (8-5-3).

Last week: 3.

Result: 2-1 win over Seattle.

NYCFC picks up where it left off.

-

4. Dallas (6-3-6).

Last week: 4.

Result: 1-1 tie at Vancouver.

Dallas keeps doing what it needs to do to stay near the top in the West.

-

5. Sporting KC (7-4-6).

Last week: 5.

Result: 0-0 tie at San Jose.

Another team that grinds out results.

-

6. Orlando (7-5-4).

Last week: 6.

Result: 3-3 tie with Montreal.

Jonathan Spector saved Orlando with a tying goal in stoppage time.

-

7. Los Angeles (5-5-4).

Last week: 7.

Result: 2-2 tie with Houston.

The Galaxy have 11 points in their past five games.

-

8. Atlanta United (6-6-3).

Last week: 11.

Result: 3-1 win over Columbus.

Team has three consecutive wins at home.

-

9. New York Red Bulls (7-7-2).

Last week: 12.

Result: 2-0 win over Philadelphia.

After a day out of the playoffs, the Red Bulls moved back into the top six with a win over Philadelphia.

-

10. Houston (7-6-3).

Last week: 9.

Result: 2-2 draw at L.A.

A point on the road is better than nothing.

-

11. Vancouver (6-6-2)

Last week: 13.

Result: 1-1 tie with Dallas.

Dropping points at home isn’t good, even if it was against Dallas.

-

12. Portland (7-6-3).

Last week: 8.

Result: 2-1 loss to Colorado.

The Timbers and trending the wrong way.

-

13. Columbus (7-9-1).

Last week: 10.

Result: 3-1 loss at Atlanta United.

A few moments of fun but its defensive issues were again exposed.

-

14. San Jose (5-6-5).

Last week: 15.

Result: 0-0 draw with Sporting KC.

The Quakes have one point from their past three games.

-

15. Seattle (5-7-4).

Last week: 14.

Result: 2-1 loss to NYCFC.

This team needs to get to work if it’s going to defend its MLS crown. It’s simply not good enough.

-

16. Colorado (5-8-1).

Last week: 17.

Result: 2-1 win over Portland.

Alan Gordon with the last-gasp winner and a pivotal three points.

-

17. Montreal (4-4-6).

Last week: 18.

Result: 3-3 draw at Orlando City.

A team that just can’t get out of its own way after giving up a last-second tying goal.

-

18. New England (5-6-5)

Last week: 16.

Result: 2-1 loss to Chicago.

Their first loss at home this season.

-

19. Real Salt Lake (5-10-2).

Last week: 22.

Result: 1-0 win over Minnesota United.

Three points is three points, no matter who surrendered them.

-

20. D.C. United (4-8-3).

Last week: 19.

Result: 2-0 loss Toronto.

The bad news the team is playing Atlanta United. The good news it has beaten them this year.

-

21. Minnesota United (4-9-2).

Last week: 20.

Result: 1-0 loss at Real Salt Lake.

After a brief resurgence, this team is starting to sink again.

-

22. Philadelphia (4-7-4).

Last week: 21.

Result: 2-0 loss to New York Red Bulls.

The Union continue to sink.
