My ratings for Atlanta United after Tuesday’s 3-2 loss to Minnesota at Mercedes-Benz Stadium:
Goalkeeper: Kyle Reynish, 4: Making his second start, he looked nervous early after one placing one pass out of bounds deep in Atlanta United's half ... Good job coming out and claiming a long through pass in the 43rd minute. ... Given a red card for a tackle he had to make in the 60th minute.
Right fullback Ty Mears, 5: Given a yellow in the first half for what looked a good tackle. ... One chance created.
Centerback Michael Parkhurst, 4: Nice reading of the game to break up a counter-attack in the 15th minute. ... Was turned too easily by Abu Danladi on the first goal, and he was marking Christian Ramirez on the second goal, but the header by Collen Warner messed up the marking.
Centerback Leandro Gonzalez Pirez, 6: Went on several long runs into the offensive end. ... Was having another good game until the defense conceded two goals in the final six minutes.
Left fullback Chris McCann, NR: Subbed off in the 44th minute. He appeared to be running fine but Gerardo Martino said he may have a leg injury.
Holding midfielder Carlos Carmona, 6: Headed away a corner kick in the 16th minute that look like it could have been trouble. ...
Holding midfielder Kevin Kratz, 5: Had one very nice half-volleyed shot in the second half that almost went in. ... Lost Collen Warner, whose header on the corner kick was turned in by Christian Ramirez for Minnesota United's second goal. ... Finished with one chance created.
Right midfielder Hector Villalba, 7: In on goal in the fourth minute but unable to convert. ... Another shot, this off a half-volley, that forced a save in 12th minute. ... Viciously tackled by Collin Martin, which unexplainably didn't result in a red card. ... Scored his 13th goal this season on a shot from the top of the box in the 68th minute. ... Had three shots on target on just 38 touches.
Attacking midfielder Julian Gressel, 8: Great long pass to send Hector Villalba in on goal in the fourth minute. ... Fantastic bit of skill in 12th minute to beat two defenders and get a cross off. ... His giveaway led to Abu Danladi's first goal for Minnesota United. ... Scored the second goal in the 73rd minute to give him five this season.
Left midfielder Yamil Asad, 6: Picked up his 13th assist on Gressel's goal. ... Created two chances and had two tackles.
Striker Kenwyne Jones, 3: Really no influence on the game, and I don't think that's his fault. ... Seemed evident his teammates didn't quite know how to play off him, and the same is true of he and his teammates. To me, that's simply a sign of his lack of use.
SUBS
Mikey Ambrose (on for McCann, 44th minute), 5: Seemed solid for his short time on the field. ... With all the injuries to fullbacks, he may become a key piece going forward.
Alex Tamabakis (on for Jones, 60th minute), 5: Tambakis made his MLS debut when Reynish received a red card in the 60th minute. ... Hard to say he was fault for either goal.
Jeff Larentowicz (on for Gressel, 84th minute), 3: Allowed Kevin Molino to get across his face to score the winning goal on the cross in the sixth minute of stoppage time.
