As he heads to join the Philadelphia 76ers, Mike Muscala wants Atlanta Hawks fans to know he’s thankful for their support over the past five seasons.
A three-way deal between the Hawks, 76ers and Oklahoma City Thunder finalized on Wednesday sent Muscala to the 76ers and Hawks guard Dennis Schroder to the Oklahoma City Thunder. In exchange, the Hawks received Carmelo Anthony and a protected 2022 first-round pick from the Thunder and 76ers forward Justin Anderson.
“Thank you to the (Atlanta Hawks) organization and fans for all the love and support you gave me over the past 5 years,” Muscala wrote Thursday on Twitter. “I’ll miss Atlanta, but I’m excited to start the next journey in my career with the (76ers).”
Muscala, who was selected in second round of the 2013 NBA Draft out of Bucknell by the Dallas Mavericks, averaged 5.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 14.7 minutes over his career with the Hawks.
