David McWilliams of Decatur led a field of more than 10,000 runners through the streets of Atlanta on Sunday morning to win the Georgia Marathon in a time of 2 hours, 34 minutes, 52 seconds. Juan Soto of Gainesville was second (2:45.48) and Takashi Maruyama of Nishitokyo, Japan, was third (2:47.28).

Kaye Starosciak of Canton, Ga., won the women’s title in 3:05.00.

“The weather couldn’t have been better. It kept me cool, and it kept my mouth from getting dry,” McWilliams said in a release of the cool, rainy morning.

In the half marathon, Will Cramer of Atlanta edged Eric Malkowski of Salt Lake City to win the men’s race. Megan Carson of Austin, Texas, won the women’s half.
