Josef Martinez will train with Atlanta United on Sunday and travel with the team for Wednesday’s game at Chicago, according to manager Frank de Boer.

“We know Josef and he wants to score,” de Boer said.

Martinez hasn’t been with Atlanta United because he has been playing for the Venezuelan national team at the Copa America in Brazil. Venezuela was eliminated from the tournament by Argentina on Friday.

Martinez, the reigning MLS MVP after setting a league record with 31 goals last season, leads Atlanta United with 10 goals this season.

While at Copa America, Martinez missed U.S. Open Cup games against Charleston and Columbus, Wednesday's 3-2 loss at Toronto and Saturday's 2-1 win against Montreal.
