After news broke Sunday that four-time NBA MVP LeBron James will join the Los Angeles Lakers, former Laker Kobe Bryant welcomed James on Twitter.

James, a unrestricted free agent after informed the Cleveland Cavaliers Friday he wouldn't exercise his $35.6 million option, agreed to a four-year, $153.3 million contract on Sunday.

“Welcome to the family @KingJames #lakers4life #striveforgreatness @JeanieBuss @MagicJohnson and RP well done!!!”Bryant wrote on Twitter.

Bryant, who played for the Lakers from 1996-2016, won five NBA titles, two Finals MVP awards and was an 18-time All-Star during his career with the Lakers.
