John Isner will be the top seed in the BB&T Atlanta Open, tournament organizers announced Friday. The tournament begins with qualifying matches on Saturday at Atlantic Station. The main draw is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. Sunday.
Isner, a former standout at Georgia, is No. 21 in ATP’s world rankings. He was beaten in the BB&T finals by Mardy Fish in 2010 and ’11. Isner has six career victories, including winning the U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championship in Houston earlier this year.
