  • This will be the second of home-away back-to-back games for the Thrashers. The Islanders, losers of four straight, are coming off Thursday's 5-2 loss to Boston.
  • The Thrashers defeated the Islanders 2-1 in overtime on Nov. 21.

  • Jim Slater took over fourth place on the Thrashers' all-time games played list. He has appeared in 359 games, two more than fifth place Garnet Exelby. He trails third place Patrik Stefan by 55 games.
  • The Thrashers entered Friday's game fourth in the NHL with four short-handed goals. They are the only team in the league not to have allowed a short-handed goal.
