Westlake High hoops star James Lewis picks N.C. State over Georgia Tech and others

Westlake High basketball star James Lewis committed to North Carolina State on Thursday, picking the Wolfpack over his other final three of Georgia Tech, Baylor and Wake Forest.

A four-star recruit and the nation's 60th-ranked player according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Lewis also had offers from Georgia, Florida, Kansas, Virginia, Connecticut, and others.

A point guard with a deft shooting touch, Lewis led the Lions to the 2016 Class AAAAAA state title, the third in the school’s history. Last season, they lost 89-83 to Newton in the second round of the playoffs. Lewis has also played for the Georgia Stars.
