Warner Robins, the last of the unbeaten defending champions, fell from No. 1 to No. 5 in the Class 5A football rankings after Ware County defeated the Demons 29-22 last week.

Cartersville, coming off a 49-21 victory over previous No. 9 Blessed Trinity, assumed the No. 1 ranking. The Hurricanes are 8-0 and have a victory over new No. 2 Creekside.

Ware County (6-1) moved up to No. 4. Ware’s sole loss is against No. 3 Benedictine of Class 4A.

There was little change otherwise in the rankings after a week in which ranked teams were 44-1 against unranked teams except when playing another top-10 team.
