PAC is still here
Private No. 1 Trinity Christian has been dominant and No. 2 Calvary Day is undefeated as well. But don’t forget about No. 3 Prince Avenue Christian. The Wolverines dropped their opener on the road at Calvary by one score (21-13) but have been rolling ever since. PAC made yet another statement over the weekend, throttling their third top 10 team of the season, No. 10 Athens Academy, 49-13. FPD upsets Tattnall … again
In two of First Presbyterian Day’s last three wins over Macon-area rival Tattnall Square, Tattnall was ranked and FPD was not. Make it three out of the last four now as the Vikings knocked the Trojans out of the top 10 after a 20-0 win. The teams have faced each other 53 times since the first meeting in 1975, and this was the first time FPD has shut out Tattnall since 1983 (32-0). The Vikings took advantage of five Trojan turnovers as heavy rains in the area during the day turned the field into a mud pit. FPD went up 7-0 midway through the second quarter after a long punt return by Jaylun Goodrum set up a Griffin Green touchdown run from the 3-yard line. Goodrum scored again on a fumble recovery midway through the third quarter, and another Tattnall turnover, an interception by Garrett Veal, QB Jahkari Williams’ touchdown run provided the final points of the game. FPD now sits atop Region 1 with Stratford Academy. The teams meet on Oct. 29.
