A lot happened on Friday — two ranked teams lost, and one beat a rival for the first time in over 20 years — but perhaps the most notable highlight came from Rabun County, where Gunner Stockton broke Deshaun Watson’s state record of 218 total touchdowns as the Wildcats beat Grovetown 45-14.

Stockton finished the game with six touchdowns and now has 221 in total. The Wildcats, ranked No. 1, are 6-1 heading into Region 8 competition.

For the first time since 1999, the Jeff Davis Yellow Jackets defeated the Vidalia Indians, winning 26-7 at home. The Jackets were 0-13 against the Indians. It was also a key Region 2 victory for the Jackets, where they’re 2-0. Overall, they’re 7-0 for the first time since 1990, when they went 12-1 and reached the semifinals.

For the second year in a row, the Haralson County Rebels beat a ranked Callaway team while themselves being unranked. This time, the Rebels shockingly won in blowout fashion, beating the No. 5 Cavaliers 42-14 on the road in a game Callaway was favored by Maxwell’s Projections to win by seven. The win caps an emotional week for the Rebels, who earlier in the week lost former coach Frank Vohun, who passed away on Thursday.

Daniel Evans has a game story for The LaGrange Daily News.

The Rebels are 6-1, 1-0 in Region 5, while the defending-champion Cavs (4-2, 0-1) are in danger of being unranked for the first time since Sept. of 2015.

The No. 10 Washington County Golden Hawks are likely out of the rankings after losing 37-24 to 4A’s No. 10 Perry. Don Moncrief covered the game for Sports Mic. The Golden Hawks are 3-2.

Friday’s game between host and No. 2 Fitzgerald Purple (5-1, 1-0 Region 1) and Early County (2-3, 0-1) was postponed due to inclement weather and has been rescheduled for 6 p.m. Monday.

Here’s how the rest of the top 10 fared:
