Before the Hawks defeated the Washington Wizards 111-101 in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals, NBA analyst Charles Barkley said the Hawks can’t win the series.
On Inside the NBA this week, Barkley apologized to the Hawks for saying they wouldn’t make the playoffs earlier in the season, but he still believed the Hawks won’t be able to win the series against the Wizards.
“The Washington Wizards will be the surprise team in the Eastern Conference,” Barkley said on Inside the NBA. “Hawks, number one, I was wrong, but (they’re) going to beat y’all like dogs.”
After the Hawks’ Game 4 win, the Hawks’ Twitter page added an alternate ending to the clip of Barkley.
The Hawks and Wizards play Game 5 on Wednesday at Washington D.C.’s Verizon Center. The game is scheduled to tip off at 6 p.m.
