Along with a new general manager this season, the Atlanta Hawks are trying out some new concessions.

Philips Arena will have one concession stand selling Aketta cricket products such as tacos for their home opener on Friday night.

"We're thrilled to have our products featured in Philips Arena," Aketta's head of marketing and business development Vincent Vitale said, according to Sports Illustrated. "We hope to get our crickets into other sports venues around the country."

A set of three cricket tacos will sell for $12 and will have cajun-favored crickets over avocado, onion, cilantro and queso fresco.
Aketta will also sell pre-packaged, flavored crickets for $4.50 at the game including a Sweet and Spicy Cajun flavor and Texas BBQ, according to SI.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution spoke with Philips Arena executive chef Joe Schafer about the Hawks' newest food options this week about the challenge of improving all aspects of the food, dining and hospitality.

“We’re trying to make the experience more about the food than it has been,” Schafer said. “It costs a lot of money to go to games. We want to make the experience worth it.”

The Hawks tip off against the Denver Nuggets on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Philips Arena.
