Here is what they said after the Hawks’ 118-116 overtime win over the Bobcats Saturday night:

“I’m proud of our guys. Our guys found a way to win tonight when I don’t think we played that well. I’m not sure either team brought their A game. I’m not sure how much fuel was in either team’s tank, with them playing last night. We feel fortunate. We are also proud of the effort. They continued to compete. They continued to stay with it.”

- Mike Budenholzer’s opening statement

“It’s going to take some time to learn how to play without Al - to get everyone comfortable, to keep the ball moving, to know where the spots are.”

- Budenholzer on playing without Al Horford

“That was not one of the options. They defended everything extremely well. Credit to them. It’s just one of those things in basketball. Sometimes you get a lucky bounce, you get a lucky shot. Pero is a heck of a player. He’s a heck of a shot maker. He does some unique things. We were fortunate.”

- Budenholzer on Pero Antic’s game-tying 3-pointer

“Paul has had some big nights for us all throughout the year. He found a rhythm. He started attacking the basket and getting to the rim. You combine that with us making a few shots and that really helped us. He was very good tonight and got us some big buckets.”

- Budenholzer on Paul Millsap’s 33 points

“We got a couple stops. We got down to start the overtime but eventually we got a stop and got ahead and then got another stop. Then there was a loose ball foul and Lou got two free throws to put us up four. Really, it was our defense.”

- Budenholzer on difference in overtime

“It was Kyle (Korver). He found me. They covered him all game good. They know that he is a hell of a shooter, that we are going to go to him at the end. They covered him. He found me. I just let it go. I let (six) go before and I missed all of them. All good, normal shots and I made the difficult one. I’m happy for that to continue. A win is a win. It’s good to win these types of game because it’s going to lift the team up. We miss Al so much but we are going to try to cover it.”

- Pero Antic on game-tying 3-pointer

“It’s perfect. It’s a perfect feeling when you feel the crowd. It reminded me of Europe, the fans all the time. I’m happy for our fans and the team.”

- Antic on his feeling after making the 3-pointer

“I’m experienced enough to try to provide for the team and stay positive. I had terrible shots. I don’t know for what reason. I tried to put myself into the team game, provide assists, rebound, make good picks, play defense.”

- Antic on other elements of his game

“I just really wanted to concentrate on making free throws. We decided to have a Kiss-Cam in the first free throw I shot (in regulation) and everybody cheered while I was in the motion of shooting. I didn’t want that to happen again. I was just focused on making shots.”

- Lou Williams on overtime free throws

“It was different just trying to rely on Paul so much. At the same time Paul had a great game, we had other guys step up. That is what we’ve been stressing, for other guys to step in and fill those voids. Elton (Brand) did a great job. Mike (Scott) and Pero (Antic), collectively did a great job. I think everybody played great. That is one thing we have to bottle up and bring to the table night in and night out.”

- Williams on playing without Horford

“It’s important to get these early wins. You don’t want to look back in April and say ‘Man, we should have won this one, we should have won that one.’ At that same time, even though a lot of teams aren’t winning games in the East, Charlotte is number four. It was a big game for us to win.”

- Williams on defeating Bobcats

“People don’t know, but Pero practices that shot all the time. I just couldn’t believe he did that (in the game). When he shot, I was like “No! Yeah! I wanted that.’ That was a crazy shot. It should be on (ESPN SportsCenter) Top 10.”

- Mike Scott and Antic’s game-tying 3-pointer

“At halftime my teammates told me to be more confident. I remember walking down the hallway to go back out after halftime and Paul (Millsap) was saying just let it go, don’t think about it too much.”

- Scott on second-half shooting

“Not really a conscious effort (to be more active offensively). I had some good looks. I was able to penetrate. Guys hit shots for us. The key was guys coming off the bench and doing a good job for us.”

- Paul Millsap on 33-point performance

“That was my choice. I wanted to guard him and try to give him a different look. Try to front him every now and then. Just keep him off balance.”

- Millsap on guarding Al Jefferson

“I don’t think it has really hit everybody yet. Everybody is still a little shocked by the situation. You can tell. Al is a big part of what we do. Once we shook it off, guys went out there and played ball.”
