After a six-year hiatus, Hank Williams Jr. is ready for some football again.

Williams will return to the Monday Night Football opening for the 2017 NFL season.

"I never said, 'Are you ready for some football' on stage one time the last five or six years, but I will now," Williams said, according to USA Today. "I'm feeling at home and it's a real good thing... It's kind of like the Nashville Predators playing for the Stanley Cup, it's like 'Wow.' "

ESPN and Williams parted ways in 2011 after Williams made a controversial comment about former President Barack Obama.

The new version of “All My Rowdy Friends Are Here on Monday Night" will premiere when the New Orleans Saints take on the Minnesota Vikings on Sept. 11 and play every week of the 2017 season.

“It was the original," ESPN’s senior vice president of events and studio production Stephanie Druley said, according to USA Today. "It belongs to Monday Night Football. It really is about returning to what fans know. It’s a Monday night party and that’s what we’re all hoping to get back to.”

The new intro, which will feature two contemporary artists, was filmed in Nashville on Sunday, according to USA Today. The Atlanta Falcons will be featured twice on Monday night in 2017 (Nov. 20 @ Seattle and Dec. 18 @ Tampa Bay).

The MNF intro is based on Williams’ song “All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight.”
