G-BRAVES 10, INDIANS 3
How the winning run scored: Joe Leonard singled to right field with one out in the first inning to score Philip Gosselin with the first run of many for the G-Braves, who took a 9-0 lead.
At the plate: The G-Braves scored nine runs in the first two innings with Matt Pagnozzi hitting a three-run home run in the second inning and Leonard driving in three runs, including a two-run double in the second, as the G-Braves had a six-run outburst.
On the mound: Left-hander Alex Wood surrendered only three hits and one earned run in five innings and got the victory in his first start at Triple-A since a brief demotion to Triple-A for roster shuffling purposes at the major-league level. He should be returning to the Atlanta Braves soon. He threw 71 pitches with 46 for strikes. Cody Martin pitched a solid four-inning relief outing to finish the rout.
What’s next for G-Braves: Indianapolis continues its visit at Coolray Field with a game tonight at 7:05 and two more games on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. and Sunday at 5:05 p.m.
