Atlanta United goalkeeper Brad Guzan and Lilburn native and goalkeeper Sean Johnson were named to the U.S. men’s national team for the upcoming Gold Cup.

The Gold Cup is a tournament featuring national teams from North America, Central America and the Caribbean. It begins July 7 and ends July 26. The U.S. will open against Panama on July 8. It will play Martinique on July 12 and Nicaragua on July 15.

Guzan has joined Atlanta United but can’t play for the team until the secondary transfer window opens on July 10. He signed with Atlanta United after several years with different teams in England. He has more than 50 appearances for the U.S. men’s national team.

Johnson plays for NYCFC, where he has four shutouts in 17 games this season. He spent the previous seven seasons with Chicago.

Atlanta United fullback Greg Garza made the preliminary roster, but wasn’t selected to the final roster.
