Lea Henry, Georgia State women's basketball coach for 16 seasons, announced her resignation Monday evening.

Henry posted a career record of 245-222 and three times directed her teams into NCAA tournament. But the program's last winning record came six years ago and since joining the 12-team Colonial Athletic Association in 2005, her teams never finished better than eighth. GSU went 15-15 this season.

"I believe this decision is in the best interest of both me and the school," Henry said in a statement released by GSU.
