Updates on former Braves players around the majors (stats are through Thursday's games):

Brian McCann, C

New York Yankees

He started at first base for first time in his career Wednesday, borrowing Kelly Johnson’s glove, and had two hits, too. McCann is batting .225 this season.

Tim Hudson, P

San Francisco Giants

The 38-year-old is 5-2, has just six walks in 70 1/3 innings, and his ERA is 1.92. Hudson has helped the Giants surge to the best record in baseball.

Martin Prado, 3B

Arizona Diamondbacks

He hit .436 in the past week, had nine RBIs, and stroked his first two homers of the season. His surge has lifted his average to .271 after a slow start.

Mark Teixeira, 1B

New York Yankees

He missed three games in the past week because of inflammation in his right wrist. The Yankees don’t believe the discomfort is serious and hope he can play this weekend.

Adam LaRoche, 1B

Washington Nationals

LaRoche returned from the disabled list and picked up where he left off, hitting .308 since. He’s batting .317 this season with six homers and 24 RBIs.

Omar Infante, 2B

Kansas City Royals

He’s back after being on the 15-day DL, too. Infante went almost a month without an RBI but had a game-winning two-run single in the 10th inning Thursday night.

Adam Wainwright, P

Cardinals

Braves fans cringe anytime they hear the name of the player traded for J.D. Drew. Wainwright is 8-2 with a 1.67 ERA. He’s 107-59 in his career in St. Louis.

Randall Delgado, P

Arizona Diamondbacks

The Braves chose to keep Julio Teheran and trade Delgado and it was a wise move. Delgado has a 6.85 ERA this season and is 5-8 since leaving Atlanta two seasons ago (Teheran is 18-11).

Rafael Soriano, P

Washington Nationals

The 34-year-old closer lowered his ERA to 0.86. Soriano has 11 saves this season, with only one blown save. He has not allowed a homer this season (21 innings).
